LVP Flooring for Coastal Living
LVP Flooring has skyrocketed in popularity largely due to its durability and ability to withstand moisture.
Find out if LVP flooring would be right for you and what types of LVP flooring selections we offer in our showroom.
What is LVP Flooring?
Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring is a synthetic material made up of PVC or vinyl that uses 3D printing technology to mimic the look of both wood and stone. It initially rose in popularity as reputable manufacturers began to offer realistic wood-like selections.
LVP, in most cases, is also a lower-cost solution, given the substantial savings a homeowner can experience when compared to a typical hardwood flooring installation.
Perhaps most notably however, LVP flooring offers high-traffic homes a more durable flooring selection capable of resisting stains, scratches, and water damage and this makes it perfect for coastal living!

Types of LVP Flooring
If you are browsing for LVP flooring, it is always helpful to think about the styles that you have a preference for.
The most common 6 LVP styles are:
- High-variation LVP
- Wide Plank LVP
- Rustic LVP
- Modern LVP
- Stone look LVP
- Textured LVP

High Variation LVP
High-variation LVP flooring features a lot of color and pattern variation within each individual plank. Many say this creates a more natural and realistic look.

Rustic LVP
With a rustic LVP selection, the LVP will give the appearance of weathered or distressed wood. In many cases, you will see knots, cracks, or other imperfections with this style for a natural and rustic look.

Stone Look LVP
A stone-looking LVP flooring selection is designed to mimic the look and feel of a natural stone. Such as marble, slate, or travertine. These selections come in a range of colors and patterns.

Wide Plank LVP
While there are no official standards, most manufacturers refer to a standard LVP flooring as typically a width of 5-7 inches. If you are considering a style selection that is 7 inches or wider, it will most likely be referred to as a wide plank LVP. And today, some manufacturers are offering wider than 9 inches which can create a dramatic look for a space!

Modern LVP
If you are seeking a modern LVP, you will find these styles come in either solid colors or very subtle patterns for a minimalist look and feel.

Textured LVP
If you want to feel a little something under your toes, you might consider a textured LVP flooring selection. This style offers a textured surface, such as a wire-brushed or hand-scraped finish.
